In 1941 a brilliant man from South Australia with a pioneering spirit named Charles Rothauser invented the world’s first one-piece all-plastic moulded cistern. Rothauser designed this cistern to combat Adelaide’s corrosive water which rusted the brass fittings used at the time. Rothauser’s product was incredibly successful and hence Caroma was born. 75 years on and Caroma has continued Rothauser’s legacy of holding innovation at its core ensuring the endurance of the iconic Australian bathroom brand.
